Your main tasks
- Disciplinary management of the specialist department and specialist management at project level (SE team management)
- Steering of the technical topics in the areas for which you are responsible
- Communication of R&D strategy and goals to team members and experts
- Technical and disciplinary leadership and guidance of the team
- Function-oriented development in the Chassis & Safety department
- Ensuring the fulfillment of milestones in the development project in the specified context
- Definition and design of system characteristics with regard to chassis, active and passive safety systems
- Support of the division manager in the handling of projects, project organization, deadlines, status, chaplains, workload, budget, supplier sourcing, approvals, industrialization, organizational development
- Synchronization of project milestones on an operational level with the corporate divisions Purchasing, Quality, Production, Industrial Engineering, Homologation, Testing
- Reporting of the development progress to the executive, as well as milestone reporting and preparation of release recommendations incl. documentation
- Responsibility for component release for prototype, sample and series production with regard to functionality, quality, homologation conformity and industrialization capability
- Process-safe and complete documentation of the area and reporting of the project status to the superior manager
Your profile
- Successfully completed studies with a focus on mechanical engineering, materials science, automotive engineering or comparable technical oriented training
- Professional experience with responsibility for components in the automotive environment (chassis & safety)
- Knowledge and experience in the field of chassis design, vehicle kinematics, restraint system technology, driver assistance system
- Sound knowledge of common CAD and PLM systems, ideally PTC Creo / Windchill
- Confident, friendly appearance, as well as a high level of communication and teamwork skills;
- Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken; High level of analytical competence
- Several years of experience as a manager (5-7 years)
