Press Release: Electric city buses change short-range public transportation

e.GO Mobile AG and ZF present market launch plans for an affordable on-demand electric city bus

Aachen/Munich, October 11, 2017 – Professor Schuh, CEO of e.GO Mobile AG, presented plans for bringing the e.GO Mover to market. At the NVidia GPU Technology Conference in Munich today, he announced a concrete timing plan: series production is planned in 2019. The basic version is expected to be sold for approximately 60.000 plus tax. Orders can be made in advance.

The electric bus is comparable in size to a sports utility vehicle, carries up to 15 people and enables an economic on-demand solution to traffic due to its favorable price. This increases the traditional supply of local public transport because passengers can use the electric busses via mobile service providers, which are independent from bus stops.

The e.GO Mover will operate free from local emissions up to 10 hours inner-city and can additionally be equipped with a range extender. A range extender enables a larger range through on-board charging.

The electric city bus operates silently and can drive almost any urban route due to its compact size. The basic version is 2.5 meter high and is driven by a bus driver (Level 0 Automation). With this version, cities and communities can gradually prepare for autonomous vehicle operation without a driver. A 1.95 meter high version of the vehicle is available for private customers, tradesmen and retailers.

By latest 2021, e.GO MOOVE GmbH, a joint venture of e.GO Mobile AG, and “Zukunft Ventures”, a subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG - in cooperation with NVIDIA - intend to offer a high automated People Mover. This would be capable of Level 4 autonomous driving functionality where a driver is no longer necessary.

ZF has equipped the e.GO Mover with the necessary sensors, the ZF ProAI (a central control unit based on NVIDIA technology), the electric driveline as well as the axles, braking and steering systems, among other technologies.

e.GO MOOVE GmbH is planning to deliver 400 People Mover vehicles in 2019, 3,000 in 2020 and 15,000 in 2021. Cities and communities can already pre-order test fleets from e.GO Mobile AG ( and the first prototypes will be available in 2018.
